WORK IN 2014 CAMPAIGN
The 2014 campaign of excavation, restoration and conservation work at the ancient city of Tripolis lasted from 9 June to 18 December 2014 with the decision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage no. 1362 dated 3 Jan. 2014 under the direction of H. Hüseyin BAYSAL, the Denizli Museum Director, and academic supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Bahadır DUMAN of Pamukkale University.
The work was financially supported above all by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Denizli Governorate, Denizli Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Denizli Provincial Administration, Pamukkale University, Buldan Governorate, Buldan Municipality and TÜRSAB.
The excavations in 2014 were conducted at five different sectors called the Vaulted Structure, Hierapolis Street, Hierapolis Street East Portico, Granarium and Agora.
The team comprised eleven archaeologists, three restorers, twenty students of archaeology, and twenty-nine workers.
In addition to the excavation works, the site was fenced off for a length of about 6000 m for the purpose of protection.
