ROOM A

The surviving frescoes on the walls of the taberna called Room A were first documented by photography, then dry cleaning was done using fine brushes, and an overall cleaning was done using unpressurised water in order to clear the outlines and to determine the stages of restoration to be applied. Following the cleaning work, the layers and contours were identified and fine cleaning started; dirt and earth on them were removed (Fig. 1). Following the cleaning work, borders were made and filling was done. Borders and fillings rise lower than the original plaster (Fig. 2).
