WORK IN 2013
Excavation, Restoration and Conservation Work at the Ancient City of Tripolis in 2013 was conducted from 1 April through 30 November 2013 under the direction of H. Hüseyin BAYSAL and scientific supervision of Asst. Prof.Dr.Bahadır DUMAN of Pamukkale University with the decision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums no. 30096 dated 12 February 2013.
The team comprised nine archaeologists, three restorers, 21 students and 32 workers and the work covered six sectors,namely Early Byzantine Church 4, Alley 2, Western Portico of the Arched Building, Arched Building, Roman Tabernae and Villa with Mosaics.
In addition to the excavations, the work comprised topographic mapping of the site using GPS, drawing the plans of extant structures and marking them on the topographic map, geo-radar scanning, conservation and restoration work, and housekeepingat the excavation house.
