IRON OBJECTS

The most common problem attested on iron objects is the formation of iron oxide (Fig. 1). Such objects were first cleaned mechanically and then coated with a preservative in order to block their contact with air; then they were packed with silica gel and turned over to the storehouse (Fig. 2).
