Combustion Laboratory

The devices belonging to the combustion laboratory are given in Table 1.

Table 1:
Devices of Combustion Laboratory

In the Heat Transfer Test Unit and Data Acquisition System shown in Figure 1, heat transfer analysis can be studied especially in rigid polyurethane materials. Temperature changes on the surface of the material can be monitored with a thermal camera and an infrared temperature measuring device (Figures 2 and 3). The calorimeter device, which measures the upper calorific value of fuels, is also introduced to students within the scope of undergraduate courses (Figure 4).

The MVSS302 test unit, which reveals the combustion behavior of interior materials, especially in the automotive sector, is shown in Figure 5. Figure 6 shows the UL 94 combustion test unit, which can be used to test the combustion behavior of polymer-based materials with flame beams. Figure 7 shows the conical calorimeter used to analyze the combustion behavior of polymer-based materials in detail. Figure 8 shows the TG/DTA and DSC system used to determine the thermal properties of polymer-based composite materials.
