March 26, 2025 / "The New Engineer's Journey to Self-Actualization" - Seminar by Serkan UÇKAN Took Place

The seminar titled "The New Engineer's Journey to Self-Actualization" was held, featuring a presentation by Mr. Serkan UÇKAN, a 2009 graduate of Pamukkale University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Mr. UÇKAN is currently the owner of Uçkan Test and Measurement Systems and the official distributor for all Instron products in Turkey and Azerbaijan. During the seminar, Mr. Serkan shared the milestones of his journey to his current position, the challenges he faced, the decisions he made while climbing the career ladder, his occasional failures, how he developed himself, and his memories of Pamukkale University with the audience. The event we organized was highly productive. Our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Serkan UÇKAN for this wonderful seminar.

March 19, 2025 / Training Titled "Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) Decisions in Machinery / Vibration Analysis, Ultrasonic Analysis, and Thermal Analysis Applications" Took Place**

On March 19, 2025, the training titled "Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) Decisions in Machinery / Vibration Analysis, Ultrasonic Analysis, and Thermal Analysis Applications" was held, featuring presentations by Mr. Yavuz TÜTÜNOĞLU, Mechanical Engineer and Reliability and Energy Efficiency Consultant at Maray Makina. Within the scope of the training, visible damages, malfunctions, and issues in machinery were explained, alongside how to take precautions against such serious problems and how to predict these damages before they occur using predictive maintenance applications. The training, which discussed applications that contribute to companies at minimum costs by creating planned maintenance schedules and ensuring product procurement is aligned with these plans through predictive maintenance and damage forecasting, was highly productive with the intense participation of our esteemed faculty members and students. A certificate of appreciation was presented to Mr. Yavuz TÜTÜNOĞLU by our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN.

March 12, 2025 / 2nd Curriculum Meeting Took Place (12.03.2025)**

The 2nd curriculum meeting was held with the participation of our Head of Department, Deputy Heads of Department, and the Heads of the Divisions of Construction and Manufacturing, Energy, Machine Theory and Dynamics, Mechanics, and Thermodynamics. During the meeting, the current curriculum of our Mechanical Engineering Department was discussed, and the improvements, criticisms, suggestions, and innovative approaches received from our students and faculty members were addressed, with our Division Heads being informed of these matters. The meeting, where the ideas of our Division Heads were obtained and an exchange of information regarding the current curriculum took place, was highly productive.

March 12, 2025 / Our Open Forum Titled "Department Headship Meets with Students to Listen to the Current Curriculum System and Issues" Took Place

On March 12, 2025, an open forum was held under the moderation of our Head of Department and Deputy Heads of Department to listen to our students' thoughts, criticisms, pros and cons, desired improvements, and suggestions regarding the current curriculum system, with the participation of our Department Management. The session provided a platform where students could ask questions and express themselves. Feedback regarding the current curriculum system was noted, taking into account the improvement suggestions received from our students. The open forum, where our students had the opportunity to voice their opinions, was highly productive.

March 5, 2025 / Seminar on "Adhesive and Chemical Selection in Industrial Applications" Took Place

On March 5, 2025, the seminar titled "Adhesive and Chemical Selection in Industrial Applications" was held with the participation of Sales Manager Mr. Eray KURUÇ and Product Manager Mr. Serhan KARAKAŞ from WEICON. Detailed information was provided regarding the adhesives and chemicals produced and marketed by WEICON, and the presentations were reinforced with sample specimens. The seminar, which covered how adhesives and chemicals used in many different fields are applied—including the conditions, surfaces, and materials involved—as well as the key considerations, professional tips, and technical details, was highly productive for our students and department faculty members. At the end of the seminar, certificates of appreciation were presented to Mr. Eray KURUÇ and Mr. Serhan KARAKAŞ by our Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN.

February 26, 2025 / TAI Chats with FERİDUN YAVUZ Took Place

"TAI Chats" was held with Mr. Feridun Yavuz, the Chief Engineer of Original Helicopter Systems Integration at TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries). In the event held on February 26, 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering Conference Hall with the participation of our esteemed faculty members, staff, and students, Mr. Feridun Yavuz, a graduate of Pamukkale University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, shared his professional experiences and expertise while also answering our students' questions. At the end of the event, our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Feridun, who in turn gifted a scale model prototype of the GÖKBEY helicopter. We would like to thank Mr. Yavuz and all our valuable participants for this highly productive event.

February 20, 2025 / Curriculum Meeting Took Place

The curriculum meeting was held with the participation of our Head of Department, Deputy Heads of Department, and Research Assistants. During the meeting, our Research Assistants presented the presentation they prepared regarding the 2025-2026 curriculum to the Department Management. The meeting, where suggestions and ideas regarding the curriculum were exchanged, was highly productive.

February 12, 2025 / Department Academic Board Meeting Took Place

The first Department Academic Board Meeting of 2025 was held with the participation of our Head of Department, Deputy Heads of Department, Faculty Members, and Teaching Staff. The agenda of the Academic Board Meeting focused on the 2024-2025 spring semester courses, attendance status, the operation of laboratory courses, and undergraduate thesis planning. In addition, Quality Commissions were established, and discussions were held regarding the work conducted and to be conducted within the scope of MÜDEK. The progress made on MÜDEK, the department website, and the new curriculum studies presented at the 1st Department Meeting was shared with the department management and faculty members. The meeting was highly productive.

February 5, 2025 / 2nd Department Meeting of 2025 Took Place

In our 2nd Department Meeting aimed at increasing the quality of education and training, held with our Head of Department, Deputy Heads of Department, and Department Teaching Staff, our teaching staff gave presentations on the topics raised in the previous meeting. Research and studies conducted regarding MÜDEK Accreditation, New Curriculum Procedures, and the website were presented to the department management, and the meeting was highly productive.

January 27, 2025 / The 1st Department Meeting of 2025 Took Place

The 1st Department Meeting of 2025 was held on January 27, 2025. Under the chairmanship of our Deputy Head of Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Yeler, our department's research assistants came together to bring topics such as "New Curriculum Procedures," "MÜDEK Accreditation," and "Updating Our Department Website" to the agenda, planning the discussion and implementation of effective solutions regarding these matters. The meeting was highly productive.

January 15, 2025 / 2024-2025 Fall Semester Undergraduate Thesis Defenses Completed

In our department, 43 theses prepared with the efforts of 98 students during the 2024-2025 Fall semester were defended in 5 different groups before juries composed of our department faculty members. We congratulate all our students and their supervising professors for their dedicated work throughout the semester.

December 09, 2024 Güçsan Technical Trip

Within the scope of Laboratory 1 course, this week Güçsan Strafor company was visited by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran and Assoc. Zübeyr Şekercioğlu accompanied by a group of students. During the visit, we were hosted by Mechanical Engineer Mr. Uğur Eldemir and Mechanical Engineer Cengiz Mergen, factory partners and also graduates of our department. Our students witnessed how mechanical engineering is realized in a company that manufactures styrofoam. Our graduates Uğur Eldemir, Cengiz Mergen and Oktay Zeybekoğlu (who was abroad during our visit), who we are proud of their success due to their hospitality, were presented a certificate of appreciation by our Head of Department Prof.Dr. Cemal Meran. 09 December 2024 Fatih Kalem Technical Trip

Within the scope of Laboratory 1 course, Fatih Kalem company was visited this week with a group of students accompanied by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülay Yakar. During the visit, the factory manager Mechanical Engineer Mr. Adnan Bakırsoy, our graduates Furkan Alak and Tolga hosted us. Our students witnessed how mechanical engineering is realized in a company that manufactures pens. A certificate of appreciation to Mr. Adnan Bakırsoy, Factory Manager, for his hospitality was presented by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran, Head of our Department. December 4, 2024 Seminar on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Applications in Mechanical Engineering

Prof. Dr. Harun Kemal Öztürk, one of the lecturers of our Mechanical Engineering Department, gave a seminar titled "Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Applications in Mechanical Engineering" on 04.12.2024 at the Faculty of Engineering Conference Hall. Within the scope of the seminar, different learning methods and algorithms such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence Applications, Deep Learning, Image and Audio Processing were explained, and the projects that Polo+Plus, the company founded by Prof. Dr. Harun Kemal Öztürk, has implemented and is working on for various sectors were explained. A very productive seminar was held with the participation of Engineering Faculty Students. At the end of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, presented a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Harun Kemal Öztürk.

November 25, 2024 Enşah Kazan Technical Trip

Within the scope of Laboratory 1 course, this week Enşah Kazan company was visited by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran and Assoc. Inan Ağır accompanied by a group of students. During the visit, Mr. Engin Şahin, the owner of the company and also a 1997 graduate of our Mechanical Engineering department, hosted us. In his interview with the students, Engin Şahin stated that during the production of steam boilers, he applied many courses he took during his undergraduate education such as material knowledge, machine elements, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, technical drawing.  During the students' visit, our graduates Mustafa Agah İlgen, Ahmet Oğuzhan Karahan, Bülent Gülümser and Serhat Özkan explained the boiler production processes in detail. Our graduate company owner Engin Şahin, whose success we are proud of for their hospitality, was presented a certificate of appreciation by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran, Head of our Department. November 11, 2024 Debak A.Ş. Technical Trip

Within the scope of Laboratory 1 course, this week Debak A.Ş. company was visited with a group of students accompanied by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran and Prof. Dr. Tezcan Şekercioğlu. During the visit, the company owner Mr. Mechanical Engineer Faruk İnceoğlu, Mechanical Engineers Onur Yalçın and Orhan Dalbudak accompanied the students. In the meantime, we also had the opportunity to meet with Melis Yoldaş (2021) and Nilsena Koç Memişoğlu (2019), graduates of PAU Department of Mechanical Engineering, who also work at Debak. Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran, Head of the Department, worked at Debak before starting university. Mr. Faruk has a special place for the Head of the Department, both as a boss and as a teacher who taught him as a student.   Thank you certificates were presented by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran, Head of the Department, in memory of the day for their beautiful explanations and hospitality. November 04, 2024 Suitable Container Technical Trip

Within the scope of Laboratory 1, we visited Uygun Container company this week. Mr. Akif Uygun, the owner of the company, and Mr. Kürşat, Production Responsible, accompanied us during our visit. Mr. Akif Uygun, one of the successful industrialists of our Denizli, gave brief advice to our students about how to spend an education life, and then Mr. Kürşat gave information about the production stages of modular water tanks made of stainless steel and galvanized sheet metal, stainless steel and galvanized sheet metal.  A certificate of appreciation to the owners of the company for their good explanations and hospitality was presented by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran, Head of our Department. October 21, 2024 Technical Trip to Çalışkan Enamel and Heat Devices

This week we visited Çalışkan Soba company within the scope of Laboratory 1. One of the lecturers of our department, Assoc. Dr. Okan Minnetoğlu, the owners of the company, Mr. Ahmet Çalışkan and Ümit Çalışkan welcomed us. Mr. Ahmet Çalışkan, one of the doyen industrialists of Denizli, gave brief information about the history of the company. Mr. Adnan Bayrak and Mr. Uğurcan Çelik, our graduate, gave explanations to our students during the trip. A certificate of appreciation to the owners of the company for their good explanations and hospitality was presented by Prof. Dr. Cemal Meran, Head of our Department.
