June 19, 2025 / 2024-2025 Mechanical Engineering Graduation Ceremony Took Place
The 2024-2025 Academic Year Faculty of Engineering Graduation Ceremony was held with great enthusiasm! The ceremony was attended by Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud GÜNGÖR, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet İNEL, Prof. Dr. Ersan ÖZ, and Prof. Dr. İbrahim TÜRKÇÜER, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Metin BİTİM, Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Manager Ahmet TAŞ, President of the Chamber of Industry Selim KASAPOĞLU, President of the Commodity Exchange İbrahim TEFENLİLİ, President of the Denizli Exporters Association Hüseyin MEMİŞOĞLU, President of the Denizli Organized Industrial Zone Derya BALTALI, heads of professional chambers, industry representatives, Senate members, and protocol members. Most importantly, the ceremony took place with the participation of our esteemed graduates and their families.

During our graduation ceremony, the Faculty Members and Teaching Staff of the Mechanical Engineering Department, the Chair of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers Branch Umut Cüneyt İYİYOL, and NEXANS R&D Center Manager Ömer EREN took the stage. First, our graduates who successfully completed the Mechanical Engineering Day Program were invited to the stage for the cap-toss ceremony. Following this, our graduates who successfully completed the Mechanical Engineering Evening Program were invited to the stage, and their cap-toss ceremony took place. We sincerely congratulate our esteemed graduates and wish them constant success in life. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended our Graduation Ceremony.
May 22, 2025 / The Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Engineering Visited Our Department
On May 22, 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Sezai TOKAT, and Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Fatma IŞIK and Prof. Dr. Fatih CETİŞLİ visited our Mechanical Engineering Department. During the meeting held with the participation of all academic staff in our department, our Dean and Vice Deans listened to the opinions, suggestions, and requests regarding our Faculty, first from our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, and then from our academic staff. The meeting was held to provide solutions to existing problems and to make decisions with a shared perspective on areas that need improvement or strengthening. We thank the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Engineering for their kind visit.
May 21, 2025 / 2024-2025 Spring Semester Undergraduate Thesis Presentation Competition and Exhibition Was Held
The Spring Semester Department Advisory Board meeting for the 2024-2025 Academic Year was held with the participation of industry and student representatives. The "Undergraduate Thesis Presentation Competition and Exhibition," organized for the second time this year, commenced with the opening speeches of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet İNEL, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Sezai TOKAT, and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN.
In our event, held with the participation of Debak, DRK Teknoloji, Fatih Kalem, Germetal, Gökhan Tekstil, Güçsan Makine, HD Kauçuk, Lider Plastik, Karayolları Denizli Branch, Maksiad, MMO Denizli Branch, Nexans Kablo, Orhan Abalıoğlu Technical and Anatolian Vocational High School, Prizma Yazılım, Tapasan, Theca, Turiya, Uygar Makine, and Uygun Konteyner, our students presented their undergraduate thesis posters to Faculty Members and Industry Representatives.
As a result of the evaluations conducted by the jury composed of Industry Representatives, the Best Poster Presentations were determined. Awards and certificates of appreciation for the top three theses and all participating companies were presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Sezai TOKAT, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Fatma IŞIK, and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN. We would like to thank the participating company/institution representatives and Faculty Members, and we congratulate all our students who successfully completed their poster presentations.

Finally, during our event, which was held with intense participation, industry companies set up booths and conducted internship and job interviews with our students. It is intended to repeat our "Undergraduate Thesis Presentation Competition and Exhibition" event every semester; we thank everyone who participated.

May 21, 2025 / The 2nd Department Advisory Board Meeting of 2025 Took Place
On May 21, 2025, the second advisory board meeting of the year was held in the Mechanical Engineering Seminar Hall with the participation of industry representatives, department management, heads of divisions, and student representatives. The meeting began with the opening speech of the Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN. First, information regarding the undergraduate thesis poster presentations competition and exhibition was provided. A presentation was given regarding the activities of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Subsequently, information was shared about the new curriculum studies, and ideas were gathered from the advisory board members. Activities that could be undertaken to strengthen the infrastructure of our Mechanical Engineering Department were discussed, and another highly productive meeting concluded with wishes and closing remarks.
May 12, 2025 / Technical Trip to DEBAK Company within the Scope of the Plastic Materials Course (12.05.2025)
On May 12, 2025, a technical trip was organized to DEBAK, one of the distinguished companies of Denizli, as part of the MENG 430 Plastic Materials course. the visit was held with the participation of our Head of Mechanical Engineering Department and the course instructor, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, along with our students enrolled in the Plastic Materials course. We would like to thank Mechanical Engineers Onur YALÇIN and Orhan DALBUDAK, and our Mechanical Engineering alumna Melis YOLDAŞ, for accompanying our students during the technical trip, teaching and demonstrating practical information alongside theoretical knowledge, opening their factory to our students, and for their keen interest and hospitality.
May 8, 2025 / Mechanical Engineering Department Visit to the Dean's Office
As the Department of Mechanical Engineering, a visit was paid to Prof. Dr. Sezai TOKAT, a faculty member of the Computer Engineering Department, who was recently appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. During the visit, carried out with the participation of our Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Deputy Heads of Department, Faculty Members, and Teaching Staff, our congratulations and well wishes were conveyed to our Dean. Subsequently, potential improvements and regulations for the Mechanical Engineering Department, as well as matters for cooperation with the Dean's Office, were discussed. We congratulate our Honorable Dean Prof. Dr. Sezai TOKAT once again and wish him success in his new position.
May 7, 2025 / Internship Information Meeting Took Place (07.05.2025)
On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 1:30 PM, an internship information meeting was held at the Faculty of Engineering Conference Hall, accompanied by the Head and Members of the Department Internship Commission. While general information was provided to students on topics such as internship applications and submission of internship reports, their questions regarding the internship process, submission stages, and general inquiries were also answered. This event, where students gained information about internship procedures and received answers to their questions, was highly productive. We would also like to thank the board of directors and members of Genç MAKSİAD for their participation in the event.
May 6, 2025 / The 3rd Department Meeting of 2025 Took Place (06.05.2025)
The 3rd Department Meeting, aimed at enhancing the quality of education and training, was held with the participation of our Head of Department, Deputy Heads of Department, and Department Teaching Staff. The following topics were discussed respectively:

Our Deputy Head of Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman YELER, provided details regarding the curriculum and the work conducted so far. A preliminary presentation of the planned changes to the course schedule was also held. After gathering opinions and suggestions regarding the curriculum, the plan for the next meeting was established. Finally, our Deputy Head of Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre KORKMAZ, gave a presentation on the documents, procedures, and principles required for the MÜDEK Archive Files and informed the Department Faculty Members. The meeting was highly productive.
May 5, 2025 / Technical Trip to HD Kauçuk and Lider Plastik Companies within the Scope of the Plastic Materials Course (05.05.2025)
On May 5, 2025, a technical trip was organized to HD Kauçuk and Lider Plastik, two of the distinguished companies of Denizli, as part of the MENG 430 Plastic Materials course. The visit was held with the participation of our Head of Mechanical Engineering Department and the course instructor, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, along with our students enrolled in the Plastic Materials course. We would like to thank Mr. Cem ÇAĞLI, the Manager of HD Kauçuk, and his team, as well as Mr. İbrahim SARAÇOĞLU, the Manager and Partner of Lider Plastik, and his team, for accompanying our students during the technical trip, teaching and demonstrating practical information alongside theoretical knowledge, opening their factories to our students, and for their keen interest and hospitality.
April 30, 2025 / Interview Titled “Title Defines You, Transformation Makes You Stand Out” Took Place
On April 30, 2025, an interview titled “A story of transformation ranging from automotive to white goods, from production to technology...” was held by Ms. Gül AKTAŞ KUŞ, a graduate of our faculty, with the sponsorship of the Denizli Chamber of Mechanical Engineers. During the interview, she shared her life story, the paths she took, the challenges she faced, and the experiences and successes she achieved. While our department's faculty members, teaching staff, and students participated in the event, we would also like to thank the Chair of the Denizli Chamber of Mechanical Engineers Umut Cüneyt İYİYOL, Branch Manager Ethem Kayhan KAYMAKÇI, and Education Unit Technical Officer Mustafa Cemal ÖZKAN for their participation. A Q&A session was held with our students at the end of the seminar, followed by the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Ms. Gül AKTAŞ KUŞ by our Head of Department Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN and the Chair of the Denizli Chamber of Mechanical Engineers Umut Cüneyt İYİYOL.
April 24, 2025 / Our Head of Department Visited Orhan Abalıoğlu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School
On April 24, 2025, our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, visited Orhan Abalıoğlu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. This visit served as a return visit to the School Principal, Mr. Mehmet İLİK, who had previously visited our Faculty. During the visit, the School Principal accompanied our Head of Department on a tour of the school laboratories. Teachers working at the high school provided information regarding the training given to students in these laboratories. Our Head of Department invited the vocational high school students studying in the machinery department to our Faculty to get to know the Department of Mechanical Engineering more closely. On behalf of our department, we would like to thank the Principal of Orhan Abalıoğlu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Mr. Mehmet İLİK, for his hospitality and close interest.
April 16, 2025 / 3rd Curriculum Meeting Took Place (16.04.2025)
The 3rd curriculum meeting was held with the participation of our Head of Department, Deputy Heads of Department, and the Heads of the Divisions of Construction and Manufacturing, Energy, Machine Theory and Dynamics, Mechanics, and Thermodynamics. During the meeting, the current curriculum of our Mechanical Engineering Department was addressed, and the meeting—where the ideas of our Division Heads were obtained and an exchange of information regarding the current curriculum took place—was highly productive.
April 10, 2025 / Three TÜBİTAK Projects by Our Department Students Have Been Accepted!
According to the results of the TÜBİTAK 2209-B - Industry-Oriented Research Project Support Program for Undergraduate Students 2024/1st term call, three projects by the students of our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, have been entitled to receive support.
While congratulating our department's students, we would also like to thank the esteemed managers and employees of the Nexans Turkey Industry Denizli Factory for providing opportunities for these projects on behalf of our department. March 24, 2025 / "The New Engineer's Journey to Self-Actualization" - Seminar by Serkan UÇKAN Took Place
The seminar titled "The New Engineer's Journey to Self-Actualization" was held, featuring a presentation by Mr. Serkan UÇKAN, a 2009 graduate of Pamukkale University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Mr. UÇKAN is currently the owner of Uçkan Test and Measurement Systems and the official distributor for all Instron products in Turkey and Azerbaijan. During the seminar, Mr. Serkan shared the milestones of his journey to his current position, the challenges he faced, the decisions he made while climbing the career ladder, his occasional failures, how he developed himself, and his memories of Pamukkale University with the audience. The event we organized was highly productive. Our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Cemal MERAN, presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Serkan UÇKAN for this wonderful seminar.
