Our department conducts its educational and scientific work in three classrooms, one research laboratory, and four excavation/research study rooms equipped with up-to-date technological equipment. Our department has four departments: Classical Archaeology, Protohistory and Near Eastern Archaeology, Prehistory, and Medieval Archaeology. A total of 22 faculty members/staff, including five professors, five associate professors, two assistant professors, six lecturers, and four research assistants, possess diverse expertise and experience in all departments.

Our department has a total of 10 archaeological excavations, including departmental excavations, excavation coordinators, and excavations conducted by the museum's directorate. Because many of these excavations are part of the "Legacy for the Future Project" and our excavations are numerous, our department is among the few archaeology departments in Turkey.
