Our department aims to provide students with the following professional and academic competencies:

  • By understanding the theoretical foundations and practical aspects of archaeology (excavations, laboratory studies), equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute to the protection and management of cultural assets.
  • Specialize in analyzing and interpreting archaeological materials, able to determine their dates and stylistic features with high precision.
  • Able to effectively collect record and analyze data in field and laboratory studies using the latest technologies (total station, GPS Coarse, LIDAR, Geo-Radar).
  • Able to work as a team in excavations and surface surveys, take part in national and international projects and develop leadership skills. 
  • Adopting ethical values and acting with the awareness of being responsible and conscious archaeologists.
  • Understanding the importance of lifelong learning, caring to improve them and constantly renew their knowledge.
  • Having acquired sufficient language skills (English and other relevant languages), being able to follow archaeological research from all over the world and contribute to international collaborations.
  • Able to conscious and take responsibility for the preservation of common cultural heritage and its transmission to future generations.
