There are 4 excavation projects carried out by the decision of the Council of Ministers. These are the excavations of Aizanoi, Laodikeia, Stratonikeia and Tripolis. The excavations are supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, local authorities, development agencies, various scientific circles and our university. The excavations of Laodikeia, Stratonikeia and Tripolis are continuing for 12 months. In addition to excavations, there are surveys which conducted by department members. Thanks to these studies, it is not just archeology and archeology education; In addition, it aims to improve the tourism potential and to benefit the economic development of our country.

In addition to intensive theoretical training, our students have the chance to take archaeological training in the excavations and surveys under the roof of our department. Throughout the 12 months of excavations, some of our lessons are held in ancient cities. Thus, learning diversity is ensured and students' ties to archeology are strengthened.

Students who complete the Undergraduate Program have the opportunity to continue graduate programs (Master and Phd.) at the Institute of Archeology established at Pamukkale University for the first time in our country.
