Pamukkale University’s Department of English Language and Literature hosted two impactful events on May 12, 2025, aimed at shedding light on the career paths of its alumni. The event took place at the Prof. Dr. İsmail Çetişli Conference Hall, offering inspiration to participants through experiences ranging from state positions to international arenas.
The first session of the event was titled “The First Step to Diplomacy: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Diplomatic Career Officer,” during which Emine Rana Eşme, a graduate student of Pamukkale University and a diplomatic career officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared her experiences in an engaging manner. Eşme highlighted the following:
"In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomats I work with are alumni of well-known universities in cities like Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, yet I am the only diplomat with a degree from Pamukkale University. The impact of my department on my career is priceless."
With this statement, Eşme emphasized the professional reference and educational quality that Pamukkale University provided her, showcasing the university’s strong representation even within state institutions.
The second session of the event was titled “Post-Graduation Career Strategies and the Role of Erasmus Mobility in This Context.” Alumni and graduate student Yağmur Göksel discussed the significance of international experiences in career planning. She explained how her experiences within the Erasmus mobility program greatly contributed to her academic career. This perspective opened new horizons for young alumni. Göksel expressed:
“The Department of English Language and Literature at Pamukkale University taught me how to create opportunities for myself in any circumstance and build a future from those opportunities. By becoming an independent and strong individual, I am now working in various sectors related to our field, and I experience the privilege of the education I received, which allows me to stand out in everything I do, thanks to the culture and knowledge my department instilled in me. I am immensely grateful to my university and the esteemed department for their immeasurable contributions.”
These events not only showcased the national and international successes of our alumni but also reaffirmed the quality of education provided by Pamukkale University and the opportunities it offers its graduates. The event proved to be an inspiring platform for young alumni to achieve their career goals.
