Pamukkale University Çal Vocational School (MYO) Digital Agriculture Technologies Program, whose primary mission is to pioneer the digital transformation in agriculture, has crowned its socially beneficial vision with two new projects accepted under the TÜBİTAK 2237-A Scientific Training Activities Support Program. Aiming to train the qualified human resources that will guide our country's agricultural future, the program will bring the digital agriculture ecosystem together in Çal with the training sessions to be held in the summer and autumn terms.
First Step in July: Sustainable Agriculture and Digital Awareness
As the first step of this vision, the "Awareness Training on the Use of Digital Agriculture Technologies for Agricultural Sustainability" will be held on July 01-03, 2026, under the coordination of Lecturer Dr. Çiğdem Elgin Karabacak. Aiming to support the qualified workforce, which is one of the most urgent needs of the agricultural sector, the training will offer innovative solutions from a digital agriculture perspective to global problems such as climate change, conservation of natural resources, and food security (Detailed information: https://www.pau.edu.tr/digtarimtek/tr).
The Wind of Agriculture 4.0 Will Blow in September
The Digital Agriculture Technologies Program's move in this field will continue without slowing down in September. The second training project, which will be realized under the coordination of Lecturer Ezgi Okan Arıkan, brings the Smart Agriculture (Agriculture 4.0) ecosystem to the field both theoretically and practically.
In this comprehensive event, participants will be equipped with advanced competencies that will shape the agriculture of the future, such as autonomous vehicles in agriculture, precision animal production techniques, artificial intelligence, computer vision, deep learning, and UAV (Drone) technologies. In addition, the processes of analyzing data obtained from sensors with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and transforming them into strategic decision-making mechanisms will be practically demonstrated. Thus, a great social benefit will be created by training the target audience from fields utilizing digital technologies for areas where agricultural activities are carried out, and by introducing visionary young people who will implement modern agricultural systems in the field to the sector (Detailed information: https://www.pau.edu.tr/agrotech/tr).
