Çal Vocational School was established in 2010 and continues its educational activities with the “Food Technology Program”, the “Accounting and Tax Practices Program”, and the “Digital Agricultural Technologies Program”, which was opened for the first time in Türkiye at Çal Vocational School. With the activation of the “Landscape and Ornamental Plants” and “Fruit and Vegetable Processing Technologies” programs, which are currently open but not yet accepting students, the school aims to become a vocational school specializing in the fundamental human needs of Food, Agriculture, and Accounting.
Our country is one of the world’s important agricultural nations. However, due to reasons such as the limited use of technology in agricultural production, the insufficient number of qualified personnel to use modern technologies, and incorrect agricultural practices, our agricultural production has unfortunately been decreasing. The “Digital Agricultural Technologies Program”, which was opened for the first time in Türkiye at our vocational school, aims to train qualified technicians who will address this need. On the other hand, training qualified food technicians needed in all areas of the food sector, and educating personnel with sufficient knowledge and skills in accounting—needed by both public and private institutions—are among the goals of our vocational school.
Çal Vocational School has a strong academic staff who have completed or are currently pursuing doctoral studies in their fields. The school has one associate professor, one assistant professor, nine lecturers who have completed their doctorates, and one lecturer currently continuing their doctoral studies. The academic staff actively participate in various projects and duties.
During the two-year education period, our students receive practical training in addition to theoretical knowledge. In the existing analysis laboratories, students have the opportunity to process fermented products, conduct laboratory work, and perform various analyses. In the agricultural application area, which includes a greenhouse, fruit orchard, and open-field vegetable garden, they can observe and perform all types of agricultural practices. Additionally, with summer internships and workplace training, students have the opportunity to reinforce what they learned at school within the sector. In their final year, with the support of Pamukkale University Rectorate, students participate in field trips to fairs and companies related to their fields.
Upon completing their education, our students graduate with the title of “Technician” and take their place in the sector to meet the need for trained personnel in their respective fields. In addition to employment opportunities in the public and private sectors, they can continue their education in relevant faculties by taking the “Vertical Transfer Examination”.
Students have the opportunity to transfer to:
- The Faculty of Engineering, Department of Food Engineering from the Food Technology Program
- Faculties of Agriculture from the Digital Agricultural Technologies Program
- Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences from the Accounting and Tax Practices Program
