General Information
The Accounting and Tax Practices Program is a four-semester higher education program designed to train qualified intermediate personnel who can take responsibility in the accounting departments of businesses and public institutions, and, after meeting legal requirements, establish and operate their own businesses. The program aims to train professionals who are strong in practical accounting, knowledgeable in the Uniform Chart of Accounts, finance, and tax legislation, and proficient in using office and accounting software effectively.
Objectives
The main goal of the program is to educate students who understand the practices, requirements, and innovations in the targeted service sector, and who can be effective, analytical, problem-solving, entrepreneurial, and critical-thinking professionals. On-the-job training is highly emphasized in the program; therefore, students will gain practical experience in accounting through internships conducted in collaboration with industry and university partners.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the Accounting and Tax Practices Program can work in accounting and financial consultancy offices, relevant departments of foreign trade and financial institutions, and accounting departments of commercial enterprises. They can also work in financial departments of any organization. Professionals who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, are familiar with accounting legislation, and can perform computerized accounting, can find employment easily in both the public and private sectors.
Graduates may work in accounting offices, corporate accounting departments, various units of the Ministry of Finance, and especially in tax offices. The growing demand for skilled personnel has increased interest in this program, and most graduates find employment in the labor market shortly after completing their studies.
