Pamukkale University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences faculty members Prof. Dr. Oğuz KARADENİZ and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur AKKOÇ attended the symposium "Minimum Wage with its Legal, Economic and Social Dimensions" organized by HAK-İŞ Confederation and Ankara Social Sciences University (ASBU) as invited speakers.

In the symposium, the minimum wage, which has recently been the subject of intense public debate, was discussed in its legal, economic and social dimensions. Prof. Dr. Oğuz KARDENİZ and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur AKKOÇ made important contributions as invited speakers to the second session of the symposium, "Minimum Wage Regulations with Economic and Social Dimensions", where the structure of the minimum wage determination commission, its relationship with fair wages and labour law dimensions were discussed. The session on Minimum Wage Regulations with Economic and Social Dimensions was held with the speeches of Pamukkale University faculty members.
Prof. Dr. Oğuz KARADENİZ, a faculty member of PAU Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, explained the social effects of the minimum wage as a tool of social policy by stating that it is related to a large number of income, aid and regulations within public finance. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur AKKOÇ, a faculty member of PAU Department of International Trade and Finance, explained the relationship between minimum wage and macroeconomic indicators and the effects of minimum wage on employment, inflation and productivity. Also, Assoc. Prof. Nagihan DURUSOY ÖZTEPE, a faculty member of PAU Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, participated in the symposium as a commentator and contributed to the symposium on the interaction between wages and labor markets.
