2026 Sector Days NGO Session: Civil Society Leaders Meet with Students

The Non-Governmental Organizations session of the annual Sector Days program, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, took place on April 22, 2026, at the FEAS Block A Conference Hall. Four prominent figures from Denizli's business and civil society communities discussed career journeys, the role of NGOs in social development, and the potential of young people in this field.

The "2026 Sector Days: Non-Governmental Organizations" session, organized by the Faculty, was held on April 22, 2026, at the FEAS Block A Conference Hall. The session was moderated by Asst. Prof. Öncü YANMAZ ARPACI and featured four speakers: Denizli Chamber of Industry Chairman of the Board Selim KASAPOĞLU, DEGİAD Chairman of the Board Kemal SÖZKESEN, BASİAD Board Member Ayşegül ÇİVİ, and GençKal Denizli Vice President Mine KILIÇ.

Speakers shared highlights from their educational and professional lives, and the session also explored the role of civil society organizations in social development, opportunities for inter-institutional collaboration, and the potential of young people in this field. Denizli Chamber of Industry Chairman Selim KASAPOĞLU addressed the relationship between artificial intelligence and civil society organizations, and emphasized the importance of youth engagement in NGOs, stating that "the vision and productivity of young people are among the fundamental elements of economic and social development" and that civil society structures represent key environments where this potential comes to life.

DEGİAD Chairman Kemal SÖZKESEN highlighted the challenges of the business world, the importance of crisis management, and the new professional opportunities that artificial intelligence will create. BASİAD Board Member Ayşegül ÇİVİ drew attention to critical aspects of job interview processes and the value of staying active during student years. PAU graduate Mine KILIÇ shared the benefits she gained from the Faculty's mentorship program and her experience at the GençKal Association, underscoring the significance of involvement in non-governmental organizations.

The session attracted considerable interest from students and was enriched by a Q&A segment before concluding with the presentation of appreciation plaques to the guest speakers.
