The first week of the AI-focused hands-on training program for faculty members at FEAS has concluded. Organized as a follow-up to the midday seminar titled “Generative AI in Academia: Ethics, Responsibility, and Transformation,” the hands-on training program was held this week in three sessions. The program covered various topics related to the effective and efficient use of AI tools in academic processes.

In the first session, Res. Asst. Koray Günel, with contributions from Prof. Selçuk Burak Haşıloğlu, explained how literature review processes can be conducted more effectively using AI tools. During the session, tools suitable for academic research were introduced, and participants were provided with insights on proper prompt usage, source verification methods, and key considerations in literature reviews.
In the second session, Res. Asst. Aylin Sabancı Bayramoğlu introduced AI-supported tools used in academic writing and reading processes. During the session, which included contributions from Prof. Dr. Selçuk Burak Haşıloğlu, AI applications for academic text review, summarization, simplification, and readability enhancement were demonstrated through examples.
In the final session of the this week's event, Res. Asst. Berker Dal addressed the topic of transforming course materials using AI tools. During this hands-on session, participants were shown how to prepare interactive and animated course materials. Examples of using interactive content in educational processes particularly caught the attention of faculty members.
The event, which received high attendance, was held in an interaction-based format with a Q&A session and experience-sharing. At the conclusion of the program, it was announced that micro-training and application-focused events would continue in the coming weeks under the newly established Artificial Intelligence and Digital Applications Coordinationship at our faculty.
