9th PACES Conference For Undergraduate Students: “Woman”

The Department of English Language and Literature at Pamukkale University is pleased to announce the 9th PACES Conference, an academic event dedicated exclusively to undergraduate students. This year’s conference theme is "Woman."
We invite submissions for papers that examine the theme of “woman” across various genres, fields, and disciplines. The conference aims to foster critical discussions regarding representations, roles, and perceptions of women in literature, art, and culture, thereby encouraging students to explore diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary methodologies.
PACES aspires to unite aspiring undergraduate students within an academic framework, allowing them to present their research and engage in meaningful discourse on literary and cultural issues. PACES aims to establish a platform that nurtures open-minded dialogue and promotes the development of future scholars.
Suggested topics for papers include, but are not limited to:
English and American Literature
Women in Fiction, Drama, and Poetry
Female Authorship and the Literary Canon
Feminist Literary Theory
Cultural Studies
Representation of Women in Media and Popular Culture
Women in Classical and Contemporary Theatre
Cinema
Female Protagonists in Film
Feminist Approaches to Film Studies
Music
Submission Guidelines:
Abstracts intended for oral or poster presentations are required to consist of 150 to 200 words.
All submissions must be received by the deadline of March 15, 2025.
Notifications regarding acceptance will be disseminated by April 1, 2025.

Presentation Format
Oral presentations should not exceed 15 minutes, followed by a Q&A session.
Poster presentations are also accepted. Applicants will be informed of the poster format's default features later.
