Updated Date: 27 November 2025

The Faculty organized a series of talks on "Family and Financial Literacy" within the framework of the 2025 Year of the Family events, aimed at raising early financial awareness among middle and high school students.

The events, held throughout the week of November 17-21, were designed to enable young people to make conscious financial decisions at an early age and to raise awareness about healthy family budget management.

The talks, which took place at TEV Anatolian High School by Assist. Prof. Dr. Habib KÜÇÜKŞAHİN, at Şehit Burhan Acar Imam Hatip Middle School by Assist. Prof. Dr. Bilal GÖDE, at Şemikler Middle School by Lecturer Dr. İbrahim Korkmaz KAHRAMAN, and at Merkezefendi Municipality Anatolian Imam Hatip High School by Dr. Göksal Selahatdin KELTEN, covered fundamental financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, borrowing, investing, and insurance. Topics such as income-expense balance, budgeting techniques, money management, the culture of saving, distinguishing between needs and wants, digital consumption traps, credit card pitfalls, and the importance of being a conscious consumer were discussed interactively. By emphasizing that small savings can turn into large gains in the long term, and sharing practical information students can use in their daily lives, the talks aimed to contribute to the growth of young individuals who are better prepared for the future.

These events, organized under the Year of the Family, were carried out with the goal of enabling students to gain conscious consumption habits from a young age and to take solid financial steps for the future, and students showed great interest and participation.

Our University plans to continue contributing to the development of young people's financial literacy skills and the economic awareness of families through such educational activities.
