Panel on "The Fragile Scale of Justice: Children in Conflict with the Law" Held at Faculty

The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Pamukkale University hosted a panel titled "The Fragile Scale of Justice: Children in Conflict with the Law," organized by the Labor Economics and Industrial Relations Society on November 26, 2025, at the Faculty's A Block Conference Hall.

The event, chaired by Prof. Kâmil ORHAN, featured Prof. Çağla ÜNLÜTÜRk, Asst. Prof. Fatih YURTLU, Asst. Prof. Kahan Onur ARSLAN, and Attorney Yeşim YAVUZ, who examined the issue of children in conflict with the law from legal and sociological perspectives.

The panel focused on developmental differences between children and adults, the legal definition of childhood, and relevant legal provisions. Examples from past cases involving children in conflict with the law and experiences of attorneys working in the field were shared, emphasizing the need to develop the legal system to protect children more effectively.

Sociological evaluations addressed the impact of social conditions on children's involvement in crime. The protective role of social policies in this process was emphasized.
