Representatives from the Denizli Provincial Directorate of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) joined the "Labour Market Practices in Turkey" course, led by Prof. Handan KUMAŞ of the Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations. Active and passive labour market policies were presented through real-world examples, bridging academic study with institutional practice.

The session opened with remarks by Denizli İŞKUR Branch Manager Cemil DİNÇ, who provided an overview of the agency's structure and services. Active Labour Services Officer Ahmet İRİ then presented the agency's active labour market policies in detail, covering on-the-job training programmes, youth initiatives, and entrepreneurship support schemes for individuals with disabilities and those with prior criminal records.
Passive Labour Services Chief Murat ÖZKAN addressed the agency's passive policy instruments, explaining unemployment insurance, the wage guarantee fund, short-time working allowances, and part-time working benefits through concrete case examples. Data Preparation and Control Operator Pınar ÖZDEMİR shared information on the agency's day-to-day operational procedures.
The session concluded with questions and contributions from Assoc. Prof. Türkmen Taşer AKBAŞ and students. By bringing academic curriculum into direct contact with institutional practice, the class offered students a first-hand perspective on how labour market policies work in real-world settings.
