The Department of English Language Teaching, a constituent of the Department of Foreign Languages Education, initiated its undergraduate program in the 2006-2007 academic year, enrolling 62 students. The department began admitting students to the master's program in the 2007-2008 academic year and to the doctoral program in the 2019-2020 academic year. In 2020, the department attained accreditation and was formally recognized as compliant with national standards. Accreditation refers to the process of evaluation and external quality assurance, which assesses whether the academic and discipline-specific standards established by an accreditation body are met by a higher education program. Accreditation not only attests to the high standards of our educational quality but also facilitates our adherence to international benchmarks. As of the 2023-2024 academic year, the Department of English Language Teaching comprises a total of 13 academic staff members, including 3 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors, 2 Lecturers, and 3 Research Assistants. The department continues its activities with approximately 600 undergraduate students.
