The conference titled “Art: Theory and Practice – Experiences from Klassik Stiftung Weimar”, organized by the Department of Fine Arts Education at Pamukkale University Faculty of Education, was held on April 22, 2026, at the Melek Sözkesen Conference Hall.
The presentation, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Görkem Utku Alparslan, focused on academic studies and observations conducted within the Klassik Stiftung Weimar in Germany. The talk explored the relationship between art theory and classical painting techniques, particularly through the concepts of glaze (lasur) and chiaroscuro, within the framework of the concept of “quality.” It also emphasized the importance of integrating theoretical approaches with studio practice in art education .
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. İzzet Kara, Head of the Department of Fine Arts Education Prof. Dr. Feryal Beykal, Head of the Division of Art Education Prof. Dr. Nuray Mamur, as well as academic staff and students.
