The talk titled “Denizli’s Pioneering Entrepreneurs and Success Stories,” organized by our Faculty on 17 December 2025, was held with the strong participation of our academic staff and students.
The program began with an opening speech by Dean Prof. Dr. Ender Coşkun, who emphasized the decisive role of entrepreneurial culture in shaping interaction between higher education institutions and the business world. Prof. Dr. Celaleddin Serinkan from the Department of Business Administration, who contributed to the planning of the event, also highlighted the purpose and scope of the program as well as its significance in terms of university–industry collaboration.
The invited speaker of the event, Turgay Mersin, Chairman of the Board of Sadık Group, shared the establishment story of the Group along with his professional experiences in business life. Founded in 1947 as a small commercial enterprise in the Sarayköy district of Denizli, Sadık Group has today become a strong family-owned company operating in a wide range of sectors, including automotive, fuel, lubricants, insurance, and agriculture. Mersin underlined how ethical values, customer trust, and corporate reputation were placed at the center of this challenging growth journey and stated that success can only be achieved through patience, innovation, and a sustainable mindset. At the end of the event, a question-and-answer session was held during which students addressed their questions to the speaker, followed by the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Mersin by Dean Prof. Dr. Coşkun.
