Strong Contribution to the Internationalization Vision from Çal Vocational School: Erasmus+ Mobilities Successfully Completed in Germany

Updated Date: 29 July 2026

Pamukkale University Çal Vocational School continues its steps to increase education quality, sustainability, and institutional capacity in line with its internationalization goals without slowing down. Within the scope of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility program, both our academic and administrative staff have made significant contributions to our school's international vision through activities carried out in Germany.

🌱 International Observations on Food Banking and Sustainability

Lecturer Dr. Bedriye Davulcu Tümer from the Food Technology Program, Department of Food Processing, successfully completed a Job Shadowing activity at the Sangerhausen Tafel organization operating in Sangerhausen, Germany, within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA131 Staff Mobility Program.

During the mobility, the food banking system, which is widely applied in Europe, was observed on-site. In this context, the following processes were examined in detail:

  • The acceptance, quality control processes, classification, and storage of donated food.
  • Cold chain applications, hygiene, food safety procedures, and logistical processes in delivering food to those in need.
  • The volunteer-based working model and sustainable social solidarity activities aimed at reducing food waste.

Thanks to this job shadowing activity, the sustainable food management models applied in European Union countries were observed and compared with the practices in Turkey. It is aimed to transfer the knowledge and experience gained from this mobility to the course contents of the Food Technology Program, to introduce our students to international good practice examples, and to contribute to awareness studies on sustainability and the prevention of food waste.

🏢 Capacity Building in Administrative Processes and Institutional Knowledge Sharing

As another pillar of our internationalization vision, our School Secretary Serkan Sert also participated in a training program held in Germany with the aim of examining administrative processes on an international scale and sharing experiences.

  • Our School Secretary Serkan Sert paid a working visit to the institution Birlik Tur GmbH located in Leverkusen, Germany, between July 13 and July 16, 2026.
  • Meetings were held with the officials at the institution to share experiences about administrative stages and workflows in medium-sized enterprises.
  • Within the program, the focus was on the management of blue-collar and white-collar personnel in organizations and the mutual development of administrative management skills.
