1. COMPETENCE
We aim to provide psychological counseling services with the highest level of professional competence. We are aware of the scope and limits of our expertise and authority, and we offer services only within the boundaries of our educational qualifications. In cases that exceed our level of competence, we consult relevant scientific, professional, and technical resources. We strive to make the most appropriate decisions and take the most suitable precautions by prioritizing the well-being and best interests of our clients.
2.INTEGRITY
As psychological counselors and psychologists, we adopt and practice honesty, integrity, and truthfulness as fundamental principles in our interpersonal relationships, scientific work, and all professional activities, particularly within the counseling process. We aim to establish transparent relationships with our clients.
3. SENSITIVITY AND TOLERANCE
We strive to ensure that our clients benefit from psychological counseling services at the highest level and take all necessary measures to prevent harm. We are sensitive to individuals’ rights and freedoms. While helping clients recognize their interests, abilities, and values, we remain objective. We recognize that sensitivity alone is not sufficient and that respecting clients’ dignity and personal rights is equally essential. We trust clients’ capacity to solve their own problems and believe in their freedom to make their own decisions. We make every effort to protect confidential information and prevent potential harm to individuals
4. RESPECT FOR INDIVIDUAL AND CULTURAL DIFFERENCES
We are aware that our clients may have individual and cultural differences in terms of age, gender, religion, language, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, group or cultural affiliations, disability status, sexual orientation, and marital status. We actively strive to understand these differences and are aware that the needs and problems of different segments of society may vary. Accordingly, we strive to adapt our methods and techniques with this awareness. Clients may hold different beliefs, ideologies, and values; however, we aim to serve all without discrimination. We do not consider any cultural structure superior to another and maintain an accepting attitude toward all individuals seeking support.
5. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Psychological counseling is fundamentally a human-centered service. Therefore, our primary responsibility is toward people. We try to help our clients achieve self-fulfillment in the increasingly complex conditions of social life. However, individuals cannot be considered in isolation from society, as they are in constant interaction with it. Human beings are social entities, and any assistance offered to the individual will ultimately reflect on society. Therefore, we also take into account the welfare of society while providing services. At the same time, we work to prevent psychological services from being used for purposes contrary to human well-being.
6. PROFESSIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC RESPONSIBILITY
We are responsible for adhering to ethical standards and acting in accordance with our professional roles and duties. In line with the well-being and best interests of our clients, we may collaborate with relevant institutions and, when necessary, refer clients to other professionals in the field.
