THE STORY OF OUR LOGO

Our Institute Logo was designed by Ümmünur YURTSEV, currently a doctoral student at our Institute, and was approved by the University Board of Directors on September 13, 2022, with decision number 24/28.

The motif at the bottom of the logo represents the “rahle,” or the concept of rahle-i tedris. This element symbolizes the pursuit of knowledge and learning. The motif at the top emphasizes the tradition of madrasas and mosques where Islamic sciences have been taught throughout history and, in a modern sense, our institute's role as a place of knowledge and wisdom.

The dome theme in the logo symbolically expresses that those who seek knowledge will be protected and preserved under this dome and will attain perfection through knowledge. Furthermore, when viewed holistically, the patterns evoke the form of a tulip. It is noteworthy that the dome and mercy interpretations are added to the tulip here.

As valuable and meaningful as the rose in Turkish-Islamic culture, the tulip contains all the letters of the word Allah when written in Arabic script. For this reason, it is accepted in Sufism as a symbol of tawhid, the unity of Allah.

Therefore, our logo reflects the identity and mission of our institute by bringing together the themes of knowledge, unity, mercy, and the protective dome.
