Master's degree programs consist of thesis-based programs in the departments of Basic Islamic Sciences and Philosophy and Religious Sciences. The Basic Islamic Sciences Department consists of seven branches: Exegesis, Hadith, Islamic Law, Theology and History of Islamic Sects, Sufism, Quranic Reading and Recitation, and Arabic Language and Rhetoric. The Philosophy and Religious Sciences Department consists of the disciplines of Islamic Philosophy and Religious Sciences. The field of Islamic Philosophy includes the sub-fields of Islamic Philosophy, Islamic Ethics, and Logic; while the field of Religious Sciences includes the sub-fields of Sociology of Religion, Psychology of Religion, Religious Education, Philosophy of Religion, and History of Religions.
Master's Program with Thesis The duration of the Master's program with thesis in Basic Islamic Sciences at Pamukkale University Institute of Islamic Sciences is a maximum of 3 years, with 2 semesters allocated to courses and 2 semesters to thesis work. Including an additional 2 semesters that can be used for courses or thesis work, the program consists of a total of 6 semesters. To apply for thesis-based master's programs, applicants must first have a bachelor's degree, obtain a score of at least 60 on the relevant ALES score type or equivalent accepted exams, and obtain a score of at least 40 on the YDS and equivalent accepted national Arabic exams to proceed to the thesis stage. To graduate from a thesis-based master's program, you must complete at least 60 ECTS credits, including the seminar course.
