ACADEMIC RULES and REGULATIONS

 

Academic Calendar: The academic year consists of two terms of 17 weeks, including the final and registration weeks. There is also a summer term when the selected courses are opened.

 

Language: The language of instruction is Turkish.

 

Compulsory and Elective Courses: All courses are compulsory in the first three years. In addition to the compulsory courses in the last year of the undergraduate program, students take a total of 5 elective courses in both terms, which can be opened by the choice of a minimum of 10 students.

 

PAU Credit Hours: Credit hours of the courses are determined in advance. This credit includes practical or laboratory hours in addition to the weekly theoretical course.

 

ECTS Credits: These credits, which are suitable for the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and are especially important in student exchanges, are determined for each course.

 

Attendance: Students must attend classes, laboratory practices and exams. Student attendance is checked by the instructor.

 

Exam and Evaluation: The student has to take a midterm and a final exam in a semester. During the evaluation, 40% of the midterm exams, quiz exams, homework, attendance and laboratory work done by the student during the term and 60% of the final exam are taken.

 

PAU Grading System: During the semester, the student gets a grade between 0 and 100 for each course. In order for the student to be successful at the end of the semester, the grade must be more than 60. Final grades are given as letter grades and appear on the transcript as they are.
