Our Institute was established by the Council of Ministers decision dated 04.04.2011 and numbered 2011/1595. With the Institute of Educational Sciences Board decision dated 10/01/2012 and numbered 01/1 and the Institute Executive Board decision dated 06/02/2012 and numbered 01/1, students were transferred from the Institute of Social Sciences and the Institute of Natural Sciences to the following programs: Doctoral (with thesis and non-thesis) in Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economics; Doctoral in Elementary Education; Master's (with thesis) in Classroom Teaching, Preschool Education, Science Education, Social Studies Education, Elementary Mathematics Education; Master's (with thesis) in Music Education, Art Education; Master's (with thesis) in Turkish Education and English Language Education.
With the Executive Board decision of the Council of Higher Education dated 09.03.2016, the non-thesis master's program in Elementary Mathematics Education was opened; with the Executive Board decision dated 14.03.2018, the Doctoral program in Preschool Education was opened; with the Executive Board decision dated 20.02.2019, the Doctoral programs in Physical Education and Sports Teaching, English Language Education, and Music Education were opened; with the Executive Board decision dated 12.09.2019, the master's (with thesis) program in Family Counseling was opened; with the Executive Board decision dated 25.03.2020, the Doctoral programs in Classroom Education, Turkish Education, and Science Education were opened; with the Executive Board decision dated 01.07.2020, the non-thesis master's programs in Preschool Education, Science Education, Turkish Education, and Social Studies Education were opened.
Following the restructuring of Faculties of Education by the Council of Higher Education Executive Board decision dated 15.06.2016, our institute continues graduate education and training in 7 departments with 14 master's programs (with thesis), 9 doctoral programs, and 4 non-thesis master's programs. There are a total of ......... students. In the ............ academic year, .......... students were admitted, including ...... doctoral, ....... master's (with thesis), and ....... non-thesis master's students. To date, our institute has graduated ........ students.
Our institute does not have its own independent building. It operates on the fourth floor of the Faculty of Education building. The classrooms and practice areas of the Faculty of Education are used for conducting courses.
The activities of the departments and graduate education in our institute are carried out by the faculty members of the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Sport Sciences.
