About Our Department
Biomedical Engineering is an interdisciplinary field that creates a bridge between human body and technology. Biomedical engineers work in the design, production, maintenance and development of new medical devices and their use in fields such as diagnosis, biosensors and drug delivery. Consequently, biomedical engineers work with medical staff like doctors, nurses and technicians and various types of engineers as well.
Those who wish to become a biomedical engineer should possess the following set of skills: a great interest in medicine and technology, a strong desire learning in a detail-oriented, observant and responsible environment and ability to draw various design shapes. In Biomedical Engineering curriculum of Pamukkale University, we work on achieving success by establishing a solid background knowledge on mathematics, life and physical sciences and most importantly engineering. During the first two years of our problem, our curriculum is designed to provide basic knowledge in science, computer programing and fundamental knowledge in biomedical engineering. Starting from third year of the program, our aim is to share specific knowledge in various fields of biomedical engineering and its applications and advances.
By bringing together the multidisciplinary knowledge in engineering, life sciences and technology, biomedical engineering is an energetic and rapidly emerging field that offers a wide range of job opportunities from industry to academic level.
