Pamukkale University honored its academics who have made a difference through their scholarly work over the past five years at a ceremony held on July 21, 2025, in the Melek Sözkesen Conference Hall of the Faculty of Education. During the recognition and appreciation program, where Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör met with academics, faculty members from Acıpayam Vocational School were deemed worthy of awards. Among the award recipients were our department members, Lecturer Dr. Musa Tataroğlu and Lecturer Dr. Doğan Sözbilen. The certificates were presented to our faculty members by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Türkçüer.
The ceremony, during which successful academics from every academic unit within PAU were recognized, began with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem. The program continued with the screening of a video highlighting the achievements accomplished within the first 100 days of Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör’s tenure, followed by his opening speech. In his address, Prof. Dr. Güngör referred to the improvements implemented across the university over the past three months and stated that systematic steps had been taken to support academic productivity, expressing his gratitude to all members of the university community. In his speech, Rector Güngör remarked: “The development of this university is not only the responsibility of the administration but the collective effort of our entire academic community. The contribution of each and every faculty member is invaluable. I sincerely thank you all.”
Rector Güngör also shared several improvement and support initiatives implemented during his first 100 days in office, emphasizing that a new incentive system had been introduced. He noted that mentorship and career counseling programs for early-career academics had been launched and that processes aimed at restructuring research centers had been initiated. Furthermore, it was underlined that publication and project support had been increased.
