As part of our Faculty's Midday Seminar Series, a seminar titled "How Independent Are Monetary Policies?" was held.

The seminar, organized on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Şehit Piyade Teğmen Bekir Can Kerek Conference Hall, was delivered by Prof. Dr. Şaban NAZLIOĞLU, a faculty member from the Department of International Trade and Finance.

In his presentation, Prof. Dr. NAZLIOĞLU addressed central bank independence and provided a comprehensive explanation of inflation targeting, exchange rate policies, and their relationship with financial stability. Prof. Dr. NAZLIOĞLU emphasized that the policy space for monetary policy decisions in emerging economies, including Turkey, may narrow depending on the global inflation environment, and responded to questions from participants.
