Awards and Achievements
Prof. Dr. Şaban NAZLIOĞLU, a faculty member of the Department of International Trade and Finance, was elected as a
TÜBA Associate Member
at the 60th General Assembly of TÜBA. In addition, due to his “internationally outstanding scholarly contributions in the fields of applied economics, particularly in financial development, economic growth, and the interaction between energy and agricultural commodity markets,” he was awarded the
“TÜBA Outstanding Young Scientist Award”
and the
“TÜBİTAK Incentive Award”
in 2015. Prof. Dr. Şaban NAZLIOĞLU is also included in the 2023
“World’s Most Influential Scientists”
list, which is prepared based on a scientific impact index in collaboration with Elsevier and Stanford University.
Faculty members of the Department of International Trade and Finance have participated in projects supported by the European Union, Denizli Chamber of Commerce, the Turkish Competition Authority, Ziraat Bank, and İŞKUR over the last three years. The total budget of TÜBİTAK R&D projects amounts to
690,000 TL. In addition, faculty members of the department have been awarded a total of
280,000 TL in TÜBİTAK scholarships. Furthermore, numerous R&D projects have been conducted with the support of various other institutions.

Res. Asst. Nazan MADAK ÖZTÜRK received the
“Graduate Research Scholarship Award”
at the 12th International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic & Social Sustainability held in Portland, Oregon, USA, in 2016. This prestigious award was granted for the paper titled
“Measuring the Awareness of Business and Engineering Students on Environment and Sustainable Development”,
which was supported within the scope of a Scientific Research Project. The award is presented annually by the Common Ground organization to graduate students participating in the conference, aiming to support their professional development, strengthen academic networks, and encourage academic engagement. Res. Asst. Nazan MADAK ÖZTÜRK was the only Turkish recipient among 11 selected graduate students from various states of the United States.
