Textile, Clothing, Shoe and Leather Technology Department has started to the formal education program in the 1987-1988 academic years with its first students. In the 1993-1994 academic years, students started to take secondary education. Our department served with a Textile Technology Program until the 2014-2015 academic years. The department started to provide education and training in the Clothing Production Technology Program in the 2014-2015 academic years. There is also the Leather Technology Program within our department, but students’ recruitment will be done in the future periods.
The first year in the Textile Program, theoretical information is given in the fields of fiber, yarn, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, apparel and quality control and applications are made about these issues. In the second year, students have their own preferences in terms of sub-programs as Textile-Weaving and Textile-Finishing. The sub-programs are formed by taking into consideration their previously taken subjects (in high schools). Especially in the second year, our students see more detailed vocational courses related to future study areas in these sub-programs.
