453 SOCIAL SECURITY
GENERAL INFORMATION
This is a two-year associate degree program aiming to train "Social Security Professionals" who possess the professional skills to perform all social security-related transactions for personnel working in both public and private sector businesses in accordance with the relevant legislation, either in document or computer format, to prepare personnel files in a timely and accurate manner, and to manage private insurance transactions such as individual retirement, life, and non-life insurance.

Objectives
The main objectives of the Social Security program are to train graduates who have the knowledge and skills to perform social security transactions in public institutions and private businesses using computer assistance.

Admission Requirements
In accordance with the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is through the examination system conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). After students indicate their program preferences, they are placed in the relevant programs by this center according to the score they receive in this exam.

Graduation Requirements
The education lasts four semesters. Students receive three semesters of theoretical education at the university and one semester of vocational training in businesses. Students must complete a total of 120 ECTS credits in four semesters by taking 30 ECTS credits of their own choosing from elective and compulsory courses each semester, and must have an academic average of 2.25 at the end of the four semesters.

Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the Social Security Program can work as civil servants in institutions of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, especially in the Social Security Institution and İŞKUR (Turkish Employment Agency). In the business world, they have the opportunity to work in public and private sector businesses as professionals, assistant specialists, researchers, assistant auditors, and assistant managers in human resources, accounting, and public relations departments. Those who successfully complete the "Social Security" associate degree program can, if they pass the Vertical Transfer Exam administered by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center), transfer to bachelor's degree programs in Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Insurance and Social Security, Social Services, Business Administration, Economics, and Finance. They can also advance to managerial positions in the administrative cadres of the institutions and businesses where they work.

Degree Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete all program requirements receive an Associate's Degree in Social Security.
