Pamukkale University (PAU), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS), Department of Political Science and Public Administration (PADM) aims to train senior and mid-level managers, career staff and experts who are qualified to work in the public, private and voluntary sectors (such as associations, foundations and think tanks).
Students of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration contribute to the accumulation of knowledge for students who will establish their own business in the private sector or want to be a partner in an established business with courses that support strong management, politics, law, general culture, and analytical thinking, which will make it easier to combine different information and reach new information.
In addition to service courses contributed by faculty members from the departments of economics, econometrics, business administration, finance, labor economics and industrial relations, and specialization courses in other fields, the department offers undergraduate and graduate students a program that includes courses covered by the departments of political and social sciences, management sciences, urbanization and environmental problems and legal sciences.
The courses and teaching methods in the program, in addition to providing basic information about the field, try to give students an analytical perspective and a questioning understanding.
The number of courses in the first year is approximately 10 and 6 courses are offered in the second year.
In the third and fourth years of the undergraduate program, students take 3 compulsory and 3 elective courses for four semesters. Since the 2009-2010 academic year (including that year), the elective courses that students will take in the 3rd and 4th year are selected from the pool of elective courses offered from different departments throughout the Faculty instead of departmental elective courses. Thus, instead of choosing two elective courses out of 4 courses in a semester in the old practice, they choose 3 elective courses out of approximately 20-25 courses.
