The vision of our department is to initiate new discussions aimed at improvement and advancement by combining our ongoing research—focused on modernization, urbanization, and the study of qualified spaces, as well as our cultural, archaeological, and industrial works conducted on both local and national scales—with the key concepts of technology and innovation, and to share our knowledge and experience in international contexts.
The concepts of technology and innovation do not represent a process of starting from scratch, but rather a matter of renewing and sustaining cultural productions within the possibilities and limits of their context through transformation. Therefore, Research and Development (R&D) constitutes a vital and prominent field for technological and innovative studies.
The primary academic vision of the PAU Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Architecture, is to enrich its ongoing cultural, archaeological, and industrial studies related to urban life with an R&D character and to activate them through the participation of multiple actors.
