Spatial Transformation of the Former Power Plant Garage in Çal District
During the Fall Semester of the 2022–2023 Academic Year, students of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Design participated in documentation, survey, and measurement studies in the Çal district as part of the departmental elective course MIM 490 – Surveying and Restoration Practices in Architecture, coordinated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Saadet Mutlu KAYTAN. The study area consisted of a zone originally functioning as a power plant garage, surrounded by buildings with commercial and residential uses.
Within the scope of the project titled “Spatial Transformation of the Former Power Plant Garage in Çal District,” fieldwork was conducted on October 5, 2022, with the support of the Çal Municipality. As part of the study, sketches were prepared to document the buildings at the levels of plans, sections, and elevations; on-site measurements were taken, and photographic documentation was carried out. The existing conditions of the buildings were recorded through measured drawing (survey) studies, followed by the identification of period characteristics and the preparation of restitution projects. Based on this comprehensive process, proposals for the use and spatial transformation of the site were developed.

Former Santral Garage to Be Revitalized by Architecture Students
Students of the Department of Architecture at Pamukkale University (PAU) Faculty of Architecture and Design will bring new life to the former power plant garage located in the Çal district of Denizli. The project is carried out within the scope of the course Surveying and Restoration Practices in Architecture, conducted by Lecturer Dr. Saadet Mutlu Kaytan.

Doç.
