An event titled "Family and Population Projections in Turkey Panel" was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences within the scope of the 2025 Year of the Family

The event, held at the A Block Martyr Infantry Lieutenant Bekir Can Kerek Conference Hall, featured speakers including Dr. Tuncay MORALI from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), and our University faculty members Prof. Dr. Handan KUMAŞ and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atalay ÇAĞLAR. The panel saw the attendance of our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan ÖZ, our Dean Prof. Dr. Ender COŞKUN, our Deputy Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih AKÇAY and Assist. Prof. Dr. Habib KÜÇÜKŞAHİN, along with numerous academicians and students.
During the panel, moderated by Prof. Dr. Handan KUMAŞ, Dr. Tuncay MORALI gave a presentation on "The Development of Population in Turkey," offering assessments regarding global population projections and Turkey's demographic structure; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atalay ÇAĞLAR, in his speech titled "Family Structure and Population Indicators," addressed urbanization, household sizes, and changes in family structures; and Prof. Dr. Handan KUMAŞ shared information on the working-age population, labor force statistics, and the active aging index, focusing on the "Relationship between the Labor Market and Population Structure."
Following the panel, a "Family and Population Projections in Turkey Kahoot Competition" was organized by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih AKÇAY and Assist. Prof. Dr. Habib KÜÇÜKŞAHİN, where the first-place winner was Zehra Nur KARDAŞ, a student from the Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations; the second-place winner was Enver ARSLAN, also a student from the Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations; and the third-place winner was Muhlis GÜRSOY, a student from the English Business Administration Program.
