DEPARTMENT OF CHILD CARE AND YOUTH SERVICES
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of Child Care and Youth Services is an academic unit that aims to educate qualified professionals who are capable of addressing the developmental, educational, and social needs of children and youth through a holistic approach, and who possess fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical competencies in the field.
In line with national policies and professional standards related to childcare and youth services, the department seeks to train competent human resources who can serve in public institutions as well as in the private sector.
OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT
The department aims to educate qualified professionals who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to support the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of children and youth; who demonstrate strong professional ethics and a sense of responsibility; who are sensitive to children's rights; who can collaborate effectively with families and communities; and who gain professional competence through practice-based education.
Furthermore, the department aims to raise students’ awareness of children and youth with diverse developmental characteristics, enable them to recognize appropriate referral processes, and prepare them as individuals who can follow innovations in their field within a lifelong learning framework and contribute to society through professional and community-oriented activities.

To educate qualified professionals who are able to transform theoretical knowledge into practice in the field of child development; who possess high professional ethics and responsibility; who are capable of supporting children’s holistic development; who respect democratic values, human rights, and diversity; and who are creative, inquisitive, entrepreneurial, and open to lifelong learning.

To become a department that follows current scientific developments in the field through innovative educational approaches, contributes to improving children’s educational experiences and quality of life through research- and practice-based studies; and pioneers contemporary practices at both national and international levels.
