Opportunities for Pamukkale MIS Undergraduate Program Students
IT Businesses
PAU MIS Department has relations with the private sector, especially with IT firms. With these relations, it is aimed to strengthen the collaboration of the university with industry and practitioners. Through collaborations, it is aimed to produce solutions for businesses in the field of management and information systems, on the one hand, and to create opportunities for students to do internships and take part in projects, on the other hand.
Pamukkale Technopark
There are about fifty enterprises in Pamukkale University Technology Development Area (Pamukkale Technopark), and the majority of them operate in the IT industry. Faculty members of our department have collaborations with Pamukkale Technopark, Technology Transfer Office (TTO), and University-Industry Collaboration Research and Application Center.
International Connections
PAU is one of the universities that use the Erasmus exchange program actively. The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which also hosts the department of MIS, is one of the faculties that use the Erasmus exchange program most actively within PAU. Our faculty has Erasmus agreements with universities across Europe. Moreover, faculty members of our department have joint scientific researches with the University of Reading Informatics Research Center (IRC), England.
Internship
Students do internships for a total of 70 working days in the fourth and sixth semesters of their education and training periods, and Social Security Institution (SGK) expenses are covered by our university during their internship, and our faculty has a joint protocol with Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) in this context.
Projects
The faculty members of the PAU MIS Department have carried out tasks such as consultants, researchers, and managers in projects supported by TÜBİTAK, KOSGEB, Ministry of Science Industry and Technology, South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) and PAU Coordinatorship of Scientific Research Projects (BAP). Undergraduate and graduate students can also take part in these projects with scholarships.
Minor & Double Major Opportunities
Management Information Systems undergraduate program is in close collaboration with Pamukkale University FEAS Departments of Business Administration, Econometrics and Political Science and Public Administration. Minor and double major programs are conducted with these departments. Another collaboration is carried out with Pamukkale University Engineering Faculty Computer Engineering Department. With this department, joint studies are carried out both in academic and practical (technopark, projects, internships, etc.) fields. Pamukkale University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences has undergraduate programs in Business Administration, International Trade and Finance, Econometrics, Economics, Finance, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Political Science and Public Administration. The Management Information Systems Undergraduate Program has a positive interaction with these departments through minor programs. In addition, students from other departments within the faculty can take MIS elective courses, and MIS undergraduate students can also take elective courses from other departments. Thus, the range of courses expands and the opportunity for mutual interaction arises.
