Department of Tourism Management

General information about the Tourism Management department:

The Department of Tourism Management began its education under the name Accommodation Management with the establishment of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management in 2007, and accepted its first students in 2009-2010. When the School of Tourism and Hotel Management became a faculty in 2013, the Department of Accommodation Management changed its name to Tourism Management.

Tourism Management Department Mission:

The mission of the Tourism Management Department is to provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed in the tourism sector, as well as training them to develop their professional skills, and to cultivate qualified personnel ready for the sector. Other objectives of the department include monitoring and guiding the latest developments in the tourism sector, and contributing to innovations in the sector through collaboration with other national and international educational institutions and tourism stakeholders.

Working Areas for Graduates of the Tourism Management Department:

Our graduates have the skills to become mid- and senior-level managers in the tourism sector. Furthermore, because their training includes business administration, they have the opportunity and skills to pursue careers in various sectors. Graduates who wish to pursue careers outside the private sector also have the opportunity to pursue academic careers in tourism. 

The vast majority of our graduates work in mid- and senior-level positions in the private sector. Our faculty encourages entrepreneurship, allowing our students to start their own businesses. Some of our graduates work as teachers in the Ministry of National Education, while others serve as academics at universities.

The Department of Tourism Management  has double major agreements with the departments of Tourist Guidance, English Language and Literature, Business Administration, and French Language and Literature.

Postgraduate education

Affiliated with the Institute of Social Sciences, there is a thesis-based master's program in the Department of Tourism Management and a doctorate program in the Department of Tourism Management.

International Relations

Our department's students can study at numerous universities through Erasmus+ or special exchange programs. The Tourism Management department has 24 Erasmus+ and one KA 107 agreement.
