Faculty of Tourism
The Faculty of Tourism was first established in 2007 as the School of Tourism and Hotel Management and accepted its first students in the 2009-2010 academic year. In 2013, it participated in the "Facultyization of Colleges" process and continued to provide education as the Faculty of Tourism, accepting its first students as a faculty in the 2013-2014 academic year.
The Faculty of Tourism, which has a four-year academic year, graduated its first graduates in the 2014-2015 academic year as a college and in the 2017-2018 academic year as a faculty. All departments at our faculty offer optional preparatory courses. Pamukkale University's Faculty of Tourism includes the departments of Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourism Guidance, and Recreation Management. Each department offers optional foreign language preparatory courses.
GRADUATE EDUCATION
Affiliated with the Institute of Social Sciences, there are four thesis-based master's programs in Tourism Management, Tourism Guidance, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, and Health Tourism, as well as a doctorate program in the Department of Tourism Management.
DOUBLE MAJOR AGREEMENTS
The Department of Tourism Management has a double major agreement with the departments of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourist Guidance, English Language and Literature, Business Administration, and French Language and Literature. The Department of Tourism Guidance has a double major agreement with the departments of Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, French Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, and Archaeology. The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts has a double major agreement with the department of Tourism Management and Tourist Guidance.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
Students at Pamukkale University's Faculty of Tourism have the opportunity to gain international experience. These experiences provide the opportunity to study at many foreign universities through Erasmus and special exchange programs. Each year, many international students come to our faculty, fostering an international learning and cultural exchange environment.
STUDENT SOCIETIES
Four communities operate within our faculty: Tourism Community, Gastronomy Community, Tourist Guidance Community, and Recreation and Entertainment Community.
GRADUATES
Our faculty graduates often pursue successful careers as mid- and senior-level managers in the private sector. Our faculty provides an environment that encourages entrepreneurship, and our students have the ability to establish their own businesses. Some of our graduates work as teachers in the Ministry of National Education, while others continue their careers as academics at universities. Graduates of the Tourism Guidance program are also working professionally as tour guides. Additionally, an Alumni Information System has been established to track and contact our graduates. According to the results of the Alumni Satisfaction survey, two departments of our Faculty were among the top 15.
According to the results of the University Research Laboratory's Graduate Satisfaction of Popular Programs survey, three departments of Pamukkale University ranked among the top 15 on the announced lists. The universities were ranked according to the “Overall Satisfaction Score,” which is the sum of four sections: “Sense of Belonging,” “Impact of Undergraduate Education on Job Acceptance,” “Usability of Education in Work Life,” and “Level of Recommendation for the University,” created by data collected through an online survey of students who graduated from undergraduate programs at the universities between 2017 and 2024. Among the undergraduate programs of the universities ranked, the Tourism Management Department of the Tourism Guidance Department of Pamukkale University Faculty of Tourism ranked 14th, and the Tourism Guidance Department ranked 15th.
