The Department aims to educate innovative and productive designers who will enhance society’s awareness and sensitivity toward fashion and design throughout the four-year undergraduate program. The Department continuously improves its curriculum with modern approaches and seeks to carry out academic and artistic activities that will strengthen university–industry collaboration. In this context, talks with industry professionals and fashion designers, joint projects, fashion shows, and career days are planned.
Considering the Department’s contributions to our country and to the province of Denizli, one of its primary objectives is to train well-equipped professionals for the R&D and design departments of textile enterprises. In this way, it is aimed to realize the production and export of high value-added textile products both nationally and locally through our qualified graduates. The Department’s openness to university–industry collaborations, supported by the strong industrial infrastructure of our city, its effort to establish a unique design identity, and its education model that prioritizes continuous development constitute significant advantages.
Throughout the four-year education process, in addition to courses on fabric design, technology, and production aligned with students’ areas of specialization, there are also courses that broaden their perspectives in art and design. The educational program is supported by workshop practices, specialized design software, institutional internships, and technical field trips. Students are encouraged to participate in national and international competitions in the fields of weaving, knitting, dyeing and printing, fashion design, and product design, with the goal of winning awards and obtaining international study scholarships. Our Department is the only one in the Aegean Region within Faculties of Architecture and Design.
