VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN THE WORKPLACE

Students enrolled in engineering programs at the Faculty of Technology complete 7 semesters of their total 8-semester education period at the faculty, and 1 semester obligatorily in the industry sector under the name Workplace Training, in order to strengthen their practical application skills.

The purpose of Workplace Training is to enable the student to become closely familiar with institutions and organizations related to their field; to learn the hierarchical structure, responsibilities, relationships, and workplace discipline within these institutions and organizations; to reinforce the knowledge and skills gained during the education process; to acquire new knowledge and skills; to develop the ability to work in harmony with other personnel in the working environment; and to learn and use new technological products and opportunities in the sector.

Important Warnings for Students

  1. At the beginning of each term, the application calendar is published on the Faculty and Department websites. Applications will be accepted only within the announced date range, and students must complete the procedures on time and submit the Workplace Vocational Training forms signed and stamped before the final submission deadline.

  2. It is mandatory to complete the Annex-3 (Contract) document electronically.

  3. The format of the Workplace Vocational Training File is provided in the attachment. The file will be filled out digitally, and any required images will be inserted into the pages digitally. The file will contain a total of 14 reports, one report for each week. A single report may consist of multiple pages. At the end of the term, a printout of the file will be taken and submitted with a transparent front cover and spiral binding.

WORKPLACE VOCATIONAL TRAINING APPLICATION STEPS

  • Annex-1 Workplace Eligibility Form, Annex-2 Undertaking, Certificate of Entitlement, and Annex-3 Contract forms (3 copies) will be approved by the workplace in the required sections and then submitted by hand to the Department Workplace Vocational Training Commission with signatures and stamps.

Note: If the department has previously signed a continuing protocol with the relevant workplace, the Annex-1 Workplace Eligibility Form is not required.
Note: The Certificate of Entitlement will be generated via the e-Government Health Provision and Activation System (SPAS).
Note: The Annex-3 Contract Form must be completed digitally in 3 copies. The forms must have wet signatures and stamps.

  • IBAN and contact information will be updated via the Pusula Information System:

  • Workplace Vocational Training preferences will be made by following the steps in the Pusula Information System:
    STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM > WORKPLACE VOCATIONAL TRAINING (WORKPLACE TRAINING) PROCEDURES

  • The placement result for Workplace Vocational Training will be tracked via the Pusula Information System.

  • During the course registration week, the ISME 400 coded Workplace Vocational Training course will be selected via the Pusula Information System.

  • The insured employment entry document can be obtained from the student’s own e-Government page starting one day before the Workplace Vocational Training begins.

  • After Workplace Vocational Training, on the dates to be announced on the Department websites, the following will be submitted and an interview will be conducted:

    • Annex-4 Evaluation Form (in a sealed envelope, signed and stamped)

    • Workplace Vocational Training Logbook (signed and stamped)

    Logbooks will be prepared according to the format provided on the Department websites and submitted in spiral-bound form.
