RULES STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW DURING EXAMS

  • Students must be present in the designated exam hall at least ten minutes before the exam starts.

  • Students are required to bring their student ID cards and keep them visibly on their desks throughout the exam. Students who fail to present a valid ID will not be admitted to the exam.

  • Students must strictly follow the invigilator’s instructions at the beginning and throughout the exam. Silence must be maintained until the exam begins. Upon the invigilator’s instruction, mobile phones, lecture notes, and all other materials must be put away and students must prepare according to exam regulations.

  • Students must write their name, surname, student number, department, and education type on the exam paper and any additional answer sheets using a pen, and must sign the exam paper. No unsigned or unidentified exam papers are allowed during the exam. Students are responsible for filling in all required information immediately after receiving the exam documents.

  • At the beginning of the exam, students must sign the Exam Attendance Sheet. Those who sign the sheet are required to submit their exam papers.

  • Students may not leave the exam hall within the first 20 minutes of the exam. Students arriving within the first 20 minutes may be admitted. Students who leave the hall after the exam has started will not be allowed to re-enter. Students arriving after the first 20 minutes will not be admitted.
For exams shorter than 20 minutes, the earliest exit time is determined by the course instructor.

  • Students present in the exam hall when the question papers are distributed are considered to have taken the exam and must sign the attendance sheet. The same rule applies to final and make-up exams.

  • During the exam, mobile phones must not be kept on or within reach, even if switched off. The use or possession of headphones, tablets, Bluetooth devices, voice recorders, smart watches, smart bracelets, smart glasses, or any other communication devices is strictly prohibited.

  • Except for materials explicitly permitted by the instructor, bringing lecture notes, dictionaries, calculators, books, or similar materials into the exam hall is prohibited. If brought inadvertently, they must be placed out of reach after informing the invigilator.

  • Calculator covers must be removed and placed in a location designated by the invigilator and out of the student’s reach. Pencil cases must also be removed. Only essential writing tools (pen, eraser, pencil lead, etc.) and instructor-approved materials may remain on the desk.

  • Students must not keep unnecessary items within reach. Coats, jackets, hats, scarves, and similar items must be hung properly and not placed on adjacent desks or under seats. Bags must also be placed away from the student.

  • Students are responsible for any writings on desks, walls, or materials found under or around their seats.

  • Students who cheat or attempt to cheat will be penalized according to the Higher Education Institutions Student Disciplinary Regulation. They will receive a failing grade for the exam, and all other exams taken during the disciplinary period will be annulled.

  • Students who have someone else take an exam on their behalf, or take an exam on behalf of another student, will receive a two-semester suspension penalty.

  • Talking, looking around, sitting improperly, or requesting materials (such as pens or erasers) from other students during the exam is prohibited. Invigilators may warn students; failure to comply will result in an official cheating report.

  • During the exam, no food or beverages are allowed except water in a transparent bottle without its label.

  • Each student is responsible for the security of their own exam paper until they leave the hall. Exam papers must be handled in a way that prevents others from seeing them. In suspicious situations, a report may be prepared without prior warning.

  • The exam officials or course instructor may change a student’s seat or classroom if deemed necessary.

  • After submitting exam papers, students must quietly collect their belongings and leave the hall without disturbing the exam environment.

  • During the exam, students may not leave the hall for restroom or other needs, except in documented emergency health cases. Students who leave will not be allowed to re-enter.

  • By taking the exam, students are deemed to have accepted all exam rules.
