Public Relations and Publicity Program

The Public Relations and Publicity department trains personnel who can manage the communicative processes of public institutions or organizations operating in the private sector. It ensures that the target audience is recognized, that services are produced in accordance with the expectations and that the problems of the target audience are solved. Feedback, suggestions and complaints to the services are important for the improvement of standards. Communication has a great effect on the continuity of customers by being satisfied with the service. Public Relations graduates communicate with the target audience through traditional or digital channels and increase interaction, ensure the development of good relations and carry out the promotional activities of the institution. The department aims to train people who can carry out the relevant processes by communicating effectively. 

Education Period of the Public Relations and Publicity Program

Our Public Relations and Publicity program is a 2-year formal education associate degree program that applies the 3+1 system. The 3+1 system includes 3 semesters of formal education courses and 1 semester of vocational education. In order for our students to complete our program, they are required to successfully pass 120 ECTS courses and get a GPA of 2.25.

Public Relations and Publicity Program Courses

The department's courses develop speaking and writing skills in accordance with institutional goals.  The aim of the departmental courses; to train employees who can communicate interactively, think quickly, and have a good command of their mother tongue. It is also among our goals to raise students at international standards by improving the foreign language of our students. Communication and Public Relations core courses are complemented by courses with marketing and business content. There are 3 semesters of courses and 1 semester of vocational education in the program. Students have the opportunity to gain 4 months of professional experience in a position they want in a sector they are interested in, and if they are liked by the institution where they receive vocational training, they have the chance to be employed by receiving a job offer.

About Marketing Program

The purpose of the marketing program is to train the staff who will manage the processes up to the marketing of retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers. Students are expected to have knowledge of e-commerce, effective communication, social media and information operating systems and to conduct research on these topics. The most important point for this section is to know and know a product well in order to sell it. Then comes having the necessary information to convince the buyer. In this process, the basic communication skills such as persuasion, body language and diction are expected to be very strong. At the same time, this criterion is very important as they will also appeal to communities.

Education Period of the Marketing Programme

If sufficient base points are obtained from the exams organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center, this section can be entered. Our Marketing programme is a 2-year formal education associate degree program that applies the 3+1 system.  The 3+1 system includes 3 semesters of theoretical education courses and 1 semester of vocational education. In order for our students to complete our program, they are required to successfully pass 120 ECTS courses and get a GPA of 2.25.

Individuals who have graduated from the associate degree program can transfer to the undergraduate program with the Vertical Transfer Exam if they wish. In addition, they can choose many undergraduate programs other than the marketing programme. Students of the department have the opportunity to do internships in many public or private institutions and organizations in order to contribute to their professional development and gain experience during their education and training.
