The ‘Knife Festival,’ organized for the second time by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality at the Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center, took place between May 23-25. Academics from Pamukkale University Serinhisar Vocational School's Knifemaking and Hand Tools Technology Program – Lecturers Erol Büker, Fatih Ilgin, and Mikail Hocaoğlu – had the opportunity to showcase their department to industry stakeholders by setting up a booth at the fair.
The ‘Make Your Own Knife’ activity, planned for children, attracted great interest from both young and old, adding color to the fair events. Children who completed the knife-making process were gifted their handmade knives, aiming to continue their interest in the craft of knifemaking.
We held discussions with a representative from Le Thiers, a French jury member, and Ömer Pirge, owner of Pirge, who visited our booth, regarding our department and its needs, establishing promising future connections.
Discussions were held with Zeki AKAKÇA, Head of Tourism and Promotion Department of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, and İlker ÖZMEN, Manager of Serinhisar Red Crescent, regarding the festival.
As part of the festival, Erol BÜKER, Head of the Knifemaking and Hand Tools Production Technology Department, gave a presentation introducing the department and informed participants and visitors about the Knifemaking and Hand Tools program.
The Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Museums Department presented a gift in appreciation of our participation and support.
