OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of the Social Security program are to train graduates who can perform social security transactions in public institutions and private businesses using computer assistance, have strong social relations and communication skills, are successful in mathematical operations and logical calculations, have a strong memory, can pay attention to details, closely follow current legislation, are aware of their legal responsibilities, and possess basic administrative knowledge and skills.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In accordance with the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is through the examination system conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). After students indicate their program preferences, they are placed in the relevant programs by this center based on their exam scores.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The program lasts four semesters. Students must take a total of 30 ECTS credits in each semester, including compulsory courses and elective courses of their choice, for a total of 120 ECTS credits over four semesters. The academic average for the four semesters must be 2.25, all courses must be passed, every student enrolled in the program must complete a total of 20 working days of industry-based internship at the end of the second year, and any other graduation requirements must be fulfilled.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of the Social Security Program can work as civil servants in institutions of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, particularly in the Social Security Institution and İŞKUR (Turkish Employment Agency). In the business world, they have the opportunity to work in public and private sector companies as professionals, assistant specialists, researchers, assistant auditors, and assistant managers in human resources, accounting, and public relations departments. Graduates of the "Social Security" associate degree program can, if they pass the Vertical Transfer Exam administered by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center), transfer to bachelor's degree programs in Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Insurance and Social Security, Social Services, Business Administration, Economics, and Finance. They can also advance to managerial positions in the institutions and businesses where they work.

DEGREE AWARDED

Students who successfully complete all courses in the program (totaling 120 ECTS credits) with a passing grade and achieve the required academic average are considered to have successfully completed the program. These students are entitled to receive a "Social Security Associate Degree".
